: Cheseaux was probably built in the 10th or 11th century on the ruins of an ancient city Helveto-Romaine, as evidenced by the innumerable slash tiles and Roman tiles can still be found today returning the topsoil in some fields located above the village, on both sides of the road to Morrens. In the Middle Ages, Cheseaux was a milestone on an important channel of communication connecting Fribourg, Moudon, and Geneva Morges
